Cindy Holland, co-owner of 89-acre Gleason Ranch, poses for a portrait with one of her heritage turkeys in Bodega, California. Poultry ranchers like Ms. Holland have to take their poultry far to Stockton for processing and this might force them to raise their prices. Two years ago, Bay Area poultry ranchers had three places they could slaughter chickens. Now, there is one place in the Central Valley, requiring longer transport and higher overhead costs.
